v0 pricing: two meters, one account
v0 pricing sells credits measured in dollars and spends them per token, so a $30 plan includes $30 of credits and every prompt draws down a balance you can read. The part buyers miss is that v0 runs inside a Vercel account, and the app v0 builds gets deployed to Vercel, where a second and entirely separate meter starts counting.
Key takeaways
Plus is $30 per user a month and includes $30 of credits. Business is $100 and includes the same $30.
Credits are consumed per token, so model choice swings the rate 50x between v0 Mini and v0 Max Fast.
Monthly credits roll over once and expire 65 days after issue. Purchased credits last a year.
v0 states outright that the subscription is not included in a Vercel plan, and bills the two separately.

Plan | Price | Included credits | Daily credits |
|---|---|---|---|
Free | $0 | $5 one-time for new accounts | None, 7 messages a day |
Plus | $30/user/mo | $30 per user, monthly | $2 per user on login |
Business | $100/user/mo | $30 per user, monthly | $2 per user on login |

What v0 actually meters
v0 meters input and output tokens, then converts them to dollars off a published rate card. Input covers your prompt, the chat history, the project's source files and Vercel's own knowledge base, which is why a short question can still cost a lot. Output covers whatever v0 generates in reply.
Four models, four rates per million tokens:
Model | Input | Cache write | Cache read | Output |
|---|---|---|---|---|
v0 Mini | $0.20 | $0.25 | $0.02 | $1.20 |
v0 Pro | $2.00 | $2.50 | $0.20 | $10.00 |
v0 Max | $5.00 | $6.25 | $0.50 | $25.00 |
v0 Max Fast | $10.00 | $12.50 | $1.00 | $50.00 |
Max Fast is exactly double Max on all four lines, and sits 50 times above Mini on input and about 42 times above it on output. Model choice is the largest single decision on a v0 bill.
Then there is the second meter. v0 accounts are Vercel accounts, and publishing creates a Vercel project whose traffic bills on Vercel's own usage-based pricing: active CPU by the hour, provisioned memory by the gigabyte-hour, invocations at $0.60 per million, image transformations and CDN requests. Hobby covers a slice of that free but forbids commercial use, so a v0 app with customers on it needs Vercel Pro at a $20 platform fee plus $20 per extra deploying seat.
v0's own FAQ confirms the split without being asked: a Vercel Pro team with one member at $20 and a v0 plan at $20 costs $40 a month in total. Two subscriptions, two meters, one login.
How credits work
Three balances sit in a v0 account and each expires on its own clock.
Monthly credits arrive with the plan, $30 per user on Plus and Business. Unused credits roll over to the next cycle and expire 65 days after issue, so rollover buys one extra month rather than an indefinite bank.
Daily credits give paid users $2 on login, added in November 2025. Log in every day of a 30-day month and that is $60, twice the monthly allowance. Their expiry is not documented.
Purchased credits expire one year after purchase. They survive a cancelled subscription but cannot be spent without an active paid plan, and on paid team plans they feed a Shared Credit Pool that drains only after each member's monthly credits are gone.
Deduction order is published: included usage first, then on-demand credits. Vercel's own $20 monthly Pro credit follows none of these rules. It expires at month end with no rollover at all.
What happens when you hit the limit
v0 blocks. Credits run out and generation pauses until you add more, and the interface says "You are out of credits". Free users get no on-demand option and must upgrade before they can buy anything. If you cover responses with a connected ChatGPT plan and hit that plan's limit, v0 pauses and saves your progress rather than quietly falling back to v0 credits.
Nothing stops at the Vercel layer, which is the asymmetry worth planning around. Your deployed app keeps serving traffic and keeps billing while your v0 balance sits at zero.
