Bolt.new pricing: what a token allowance actually buys
Bolt.new pricing sells raw AI tokens rather than an abstract credit, and Pro starts at $25 a month for 10 million of them. That unit is easier to reason about than the credits Lovable and v0 sell. What the page won't tell you is what a message costs, what the next tier up gives you, or how fast a published site burns its own separate allowance.
Key takeaways
Pro starts at $25 a month for 10 million tokens, which works out at $2.50 per million.
Unused tokens roll over for two months, the same window Lovable gives and five days short of v0's 65 days.
Purchased reload tokens never expire, but only the top monthly Pro tier and annual plans can buy them.
Cancelling forfeits every rolled-over token at the cycle's end, so the balance is rented.

What Bolt.new actually meters
Bolt meters an AI token, and input and output draw on one monthly pool. Bolt says plainly that most usage comes from reading and syncing your project files, so a large codebase costs more per message than a small one regardless of what you asked for.
Buttons beat prompting, so Publish and Version History cost nothing, and Code view edits existing files by hand for free even after the allowance is gone. Plan Mode still bills, though less than Build Mode because it changes no files.
What Bolt won't publish is the multiplier. Max "thinks more about each step" and costs more than Standard, with no ratio given. Forge is worse: it bills against a separate percentage bar with no unit at all, so no Forge session converts into tokens or dollars. Bolt markets it as "up to 50x more usage" against Standard. Fifty times the free plan's 1M allowance would be 50M tokens, which costs $125 at Pro's rate, and Bolt sells it on Lite for $9. Forge usage and Pro tokens simply aren't the same unit.
How the token allowance works
Three balances sit in a Bolt account and each clock runs differently.
The monthly allowance rolls over for two months, but the window starts at the beginning of the billing cycle that issued the tokens, not the day they landed. Upgrade mid-cycle and the extra tokens still expire on the cycle's two-month mark, so a 15 July upgrade on a 1 July cycle buys six weeks, not eight. Bolt spends the oldest bucket first, which saves balances from lapsing.
Reload tokens never expire, and they're the hardest thing to buy. Bolt gates them to the highest individual monthly Pro plan and to any annual plan, so a mid-tier monthly subscriber who runs dry upgrades instead. No reload price is published.
Team tokens never pool, so a Teams plan is a stack of individual allowances with shared admin.
Cancel, downgrade to Free, or let a card fail, and every allocated token including rollover disappears at the end of the cycle. Resubscribe before the original expiry to recover whatever hasn't lapsed.
What happens when you hit the limit
Bolt blocks, and on the free plan it blocks twice. The 300K daily cap doesn't accumulate, and at 1M a month a free user can exhaust the month in under four days. Paid plans drop the daily cap, keep the monthly one, and auto-charge nothing when it runs out.
Hosting fails on its own schedule. A free site stops serving at 10 GB of bandwidth or 333,333 requests and stays dark until the next cycle. Pro lifts that to 30 GB and 1 million requests, then sells more up to a spending cap, after which the site pauses too. Those limits cover the account, not the project.

"Despite this, approximately 212K Tokens out of my 300K daily allowance were consumed in a very short period of time."

"I have 300 m missing tokens I purchased 1 day before renewal. Because I didn’t renew, as there was no reason to renew, my entire projects was basically scrap as I wasn’t able to get my 300 m missing tokens unless I paid for a $2k a month subscription."
